A Place Your Glory Dwells
For I give you good doctrine; Forsake ye not my law.
For I was a son unto my father, Tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
And he taught me, and said unto me: Let thy heart retain my words; Keep my commandments, and live;
Get wisdom, get understanding; Forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Proverbs 4:1-5
Spending some time remembering the day Jesus called me to the deep things of the spirit. I remember running to my prayer room at every chance. I was so hungry for the deeper things of God. I was so hungry for the tangible presence. I was seeing miracles and the power of prayer working and interceding for good meetings and seeing God show himself in mighty ways. It was wonderful…
But it wasn’t enough.

Then He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
Luke 11:5-8
Jesus taught the disciples on a number of occasions “that they should always pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1).
While it is true that we are friends with God, and that He is our Father, it is also just as true that Jesus showed us that it was ‘persistence’ in prayer that is also called for.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16 KJV (portion)
Oh the excitement of writing about prayer…I asked the Lord what shall I say? I could write about this and that and another.. and as my mind was filling with the joy of all the treasures of prayer, I heard the small voice say “fervent”.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. To be fervent means to show great warmth or intensity of spirit. When we begin to converse with God the warmth of the spirit and the fire of the Lord begin to stir the passions of His desires through us.
What a wonderful gift the Lord gives to us that we could share in the passions of His heart. That our yielding to the call of prayer could change the heart of one or change the destiny of a nation or simply draw us personally into the deep chambers of the Lord to experience the intimacy of the most High.

There is a story of how an Indian brave found an eagle egg and put it into the nest of a chicken.
The eaglet hatched and grew with the chickens. He thought he was a chicken. One day he looked in the sky and saw an eagle soaring. He thought, “What a beautiful bird.” He wished he could be like the eagle, but he was just another chicken. You don’t send chickens to eagle school. It is hard to be an eagle when you are surrounded by chickens. The eagle died thinking he was only a chicken. He never knew of his hidden potential as an eagle.
Some Christians never know their full potential or what they could have done. It is sad to live a life of regrets. Don’t live another person’s dreams. Don’t be born an original and die a copy. Seek to soar high above the ground and reach your fullest potential for God. Don’t think you are a chicken when you are an eagle. Uncap and release your potential! Reach towards your God-given goals. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:14). Lift your wings and soar high toward the heavens. Look into the face of God and shout, “This is where I belong.” Eagles were meant to soar not remain on the ground. One day I told my wife, “I am tired of waiting and walking it is time to soar.” We relocated Silent Word Ministries in Trenton, Georgia and have been soaring for many years. It’s great to be where you belong.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Is this your day to soar as an eagle? Flap your wings and take a leap of faith

How lovely is Your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul is longing and sighing
for the courts of theLord:
My heart and my flesh cry for joy
to the living God!
Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest to shelter her young,
Your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my King and my God!
Blessed are they who dwell in Your house, O Lord,
without ceasing they praise You:
when he sets his heart on the sacred journey:
Going through the dry valley, they make it a spring,
the first rain clothes it with blessing:
They go from strength to strength
they shall see the God of Gods in Sion.
O Lord god of hosts, hear my prayer, hearken, O God of Jacob!
O God, our shield, behold, look on the face of Your Anointed!
Psalm 83
